This is not to say animation is easy. Ask anyone who works at Dreamworks Animation SKG (Shrek 2) or Pixar (The Incredibles). Despite more computer firepower than you can imagine, the process is still incredibly labor intensive. The ability to draw, and tell a good story, are still the mystical, delicate and demanding talents they've always been. In animation you create an expensive flow of images. The difference between a scene being flat or being magical can be as small as a slight twist of plot, a nuance of character, or a beat or two in timing.
It's tough work. Animation projects are long, difficult and uncertain. Like climbing Everest, sometimes the part that feels best is being done and off the mountain, getting applause, and realizing that somehow it all worked out.

A fast track to animation is a degree from one of the online computer animation schools. There are several advantages to learning online. One is that a computer is the platform you'll be working on anyway. Learning to animate while online is like learning to drive from inside a car. It makes sense.
Another advantage is that talented animation teachers are hard to find. Schools often have more luck recruiting them to teach online, a format that allows them to keep up their current work and family obligations, stay where they are, and teach on their own hours.
